Laura & Miguel

A Brief History

Laura Ocampo, my wife is an accomplished folkloric singer from Argentina, having earned the prestigious award of "Primera Vocalista Femenina" (First-Place Female Vocalist) in the country's national competition "Festival de Baradero", in Provincia de Buenos Aires and "Premio Revelacion" (Revelation Award) at "Festival de la Chacarera" in Santiago del Estero. Both showcasing traditional styles from across the country.

Folkloric music in Argentina, known as Música Folklórica, is a rich genre with deep roots in indigenous, European, and African traditions, and it has been a significant part of the nation's cultural identity since the mid-20th century. Laura's achievements highlight her skill and dedication to preserving and performing Argentina's diverse regional musical heritage.

Given her talent and our shared passion, collaborating on musical projects feels only natural.

Our journey, which started as a simple pursuit of enjoyment, has now taken on a more significant role in our lives. Laura not only enjoys singing Música Folklórica, she enjoys any music that is simply beautiful.

Our repertoire includes Flamenco, Latin American (in Spanish) and Adult Contemporary Music (in English).
